With three minutes to chat to each new contact, you can discover fast whether there are opportunities for you to work together. If not, you can move on to the next contact.
If you do share business interests, you can continue your conversation later or arrange a meeting in the future.

- Bring along your business cards, leaflets or brochures. Some water (or other drink) is also useful.
- Take your place in the networking circle.
- On the announcement, start your two-minute conversation with your first networking contact.
- The organiser will tell you when the 90 seconds are up. If just one of you has been talking, let the other talk for the second half.
- 15-second announcement prepares you to end your conversation.
- Remember to exchange business cards or contacts.
- Move to meet the next networker in the circle.
- On the announcement, start your second conversation.
- Repeat until we’re all networked out.
- Relax.
Speed networking is more personal because it’s one-to-one and there’s no need to get nervous about presenting to a group or plucking up courage to approach people. And as the introductions are managed for you by the organiser, all you have to do is chat.
